Yahoo! is getting set to launch it’s new search tools in an attempt to put itselfa step ahead of search rival Google. Yahoo! and Google have been distancing themselves in recent months as they increasingly become direct competitors.
The new search site gives more links to related pages within the same site, the same category, and a handy option to open the link in a new window.
At it’s core though, it really looks like a cosmetic change which is unlikely to cause much concern from the Google camp. Most of Yahoo!’s search results use Google’s engine anyway, and Google’s popularity stems from being a lightweight and efficient version of Yahoo!, not by usurping Yahoo!’s features.
