Microsoft will be releasing PocketPC 2003 on June 23. The new version will have better support for wireless networking and improved performance. It will also ship with Windows Media Player 9!
According to PDA Avenue, a page appeared on the HP site which has since been removed describing their new models, with the iPaq 1930 and 1940’s shipping with PocketPC 2003 Pro and the 5150 and 5550 coming with PocketPC 2003 Premium. Microsoft hasn’t released a full feature set of these yet.
Coinciding with the release of the new Operating System, HP will be releasing new models of its iPaq line, but perhaps more interesting is that Gateway will be jumping into the fray with its own PDA. Very cool!
